VINTAGE 60s JAPAN BAT OP TIN TOY BUS TNM&O TEXAS NEW MEXICO OKLAHOMA 1 OF A KIND

NOTE: THE PAINT ON THIS TOY IS NOT ORIGINAL. I was told that this was a project done by a college commercial art student. Nearly the entire bus was carefully HAND PAINTED. I'm almost positive that this was ORIGINALLY a 1960's, Japan made, toy Greyhound bus. The toy measures just under 15 inches long. It is 3 & 1/2 inches wide, and 4 & 1/4 inches tall. IT DOES NOT WORK. It SHOULD run on 2 D cell batteries, but when I tested it - I got NO RESPONSE. The hand painted graphics on the bus read: "TNMO COACHES, INC." This stands for "Texas, New Mexico & Oklahoma" which was an actual regional bus line. (I think the line still services a few towns, but now Greyhound buses are used.) Whoever did this, did a VERY GOOD job! When I first saw it, I thought it was actual tin litho paint, upon closer inspection, it is easy to see that it has been HAND PAINTED. Only the white roof, black bottom, hub caps and a few areas (like the headlights and license plates) are original. You will NEVER see another one of these - this is truly a ONE OF A KIND piece of art. It displays very nicely, with only minor wear and a few small "dings."
