Victorian 1880`s Black Silk Capelet /Mantle.Provenance.Darlington,Runk & Co

Not really much can be added , the pictures say it all.
This is a spectacular black victorian silk cape
or mantle as they called it.
It was owned by a Mrs.J.H Adams, this piece is numbered 8413
and was made or bought Nov 29. 1892. See back side of label.
I love the scalloped edge that is follow by a 12" deep pleated flounce.
The shoulders have an extra small pillow attached to  emphasize the
gathered shoulders,and on the inside there is a faille ribbon
you can tighten to give you that hour glass waist.
Tulle around the neckline, plus large front bow finishes off
this spectacular piece.
This is a true piece of fashion history,Should really be in a fashion
museum.

and on 3/16 of an inch. None of these noticeable

that I can see.
+ Great : Worn but near perfect .Small signs here and there .
Pinholes barely detectable flaws, remember it is vintage.
~ Good: Still wearable but needs repair ( new zippers,small holes ,
fading repairs, etc.) AS IS
!  Fair : Most likely not wearable for study or pattern making.
