RARE Tourist Map of Kyushu JAPAN~Published by the Fukuoka Ladies Club~April 1956

Description

Up for auction a 21" x 25" Tourist Map of Kyushu,
the southwestern most of Japan’s main islands
~Published by the Fukuoka Ladies Club, April 1956 proceeds to be used for Kyushu relief projects.  It has a date written on top of the map of 1957, probably when this map was purchased.
On the back of the map it lists places of interest and they are divided by prefecture.  I'm not sure of the accuracy of this statement off the internet but it states that only Japan and France have prefectures - which is a district or town under the control of a special official called a prefect, or the term of office or residence of a prefect.
Good colors and as stated in the condition description, there is minimal writing and circling of sites and a few areas of tears in the folds.  Please review all photos as they are part of the description.
