    Description

Original antique color lithographed 1906 map of the island of Luzon, printed more than 115 years ago.
The coverage area extends from the Mindoro Strait north to Claveria and Pamplona Bay.
There is an inset of the area north of Luzon, including the southern tip of Formosa and the islands of Babuyanes, Batanes, and Bashi.
Among the named places and features are Manila Bay, Corregidor, Cavite, Balanga, Albay, Iba, Balayan Bay, Polillo Island, Ragay Gulf, Tuguegarao, Mariveles, Mt. Lobo, the Verde Island Passage, Tarlac, Bacolor, Taisan, Bataan, Hornos Point, Pilar, and hundreds more.
The map also shows railroads, cities, towns, and natural features, with hundreds of place names, and it locates the submarine telegraph cable to Hong Kong.
It was published seven years after the Treaty of Paris, ceding the Philippines to U.S. at the end of the Spanish-American War, and four years after the end of the Philippine insurrection.
The image area measures 34.5 x 26.2 cm [13½" x 10¼"], and longitude is measured from Greenwich.
