    Genuine original antique engraved Ptolemaic map of part of western Asia, printed more than 450 years ago.
    This map is titled
    Tabula Asiæ VII
    ,
    and the image area measures 19 x 24.8 cm [7½" x 9¾"].
    The coverage area spans a vast stretch of territory, from Iran and Pakistan, up through Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan to Kazakhstan and beyond, between the Caspian Sea and the Persian Gulf, east to the famed "Stone Tower," labeled "Turris Lapideas," a stopping point for travelers on the Silk Road.
    The map is based on the work of Claudius Ptolemy and was published by Girolamo Ruscelli, Venice, in his 1561 edition of Ptolemy's
    Geografia.
    Condition:
    It is in very good condition, bright and clean, with
    no
