I’m offering today one of my favorite Antique Bisque Baby Dolls.  This is a small antique baby doll with delicate hand painted bisque head from turn of the century and bent limb composition body.  She has beautiful brown open/close German glass eyes.
Oh my goodness, wait till you see this doll in person.  She is truly one of my most beautiful antique dolls from my doll collection.  I will start at the top of the doll and work my way down so as not to omit anything in my description.  Starting at the top of her head, she has a wispy pale blonde mohair wig which I purchased for her debut because her old wig was sparse and very sad.  With such a precious face, she needed a new one.  I made her a custom made lavender grosgrain
bow hair band with delicate white hearts for her to wear with her lavender and white stripe vintage dress.  She has large brown open/close German glass eyes.
She has a dainty little nose with open nostrils for realism which flows down to her rose bud shape lips. Her lips are painted peachy/red color with open mouth.  Peeking out of her mouth she has two top teeth which put a smile on your face.  Her cheeks have beautiful coloring which look just like a real baby.  Oh so sweet!
Her head is bisque and hard to believe this doll is 100 years old.  The coloring is vivid with beautiful hand painted detailing.  Dolls from centuries ago are so beautiful and are truly works of art.  Not like today, where they are made by machines and in mass production. This precious doll has an antique composition bent limb baby body which is delicate and dainty like the little doll.  Her body shows it's age and one foot has been repaired.  Obviously only shows if you've removed her precious white lace up shoes.  Her neck, arms and legs can be posed in different positions.  With a bent limb body, these babies are really meant for sitting to display.  The back of her neck is hallmarked:  "Armand Marseille, A.975.M.,Germany, 9.".
Now to her adorable lavender and white vintage dress I chose for her debut.  The dress has a high waist which is designed with solid lavender cotton fabric.  The peter pan collar comes up high around the neckline.  The collar is designed with white and lavender stripe cotton fabric.  There is delicate white lace which frames the edges of the peter pan collar.  There are metal snaps in the back which keep the dress securely on the doll.  The sleeves have the solid lavender fabric and are Cinderella style.  They come down just below her elbow.  The skirt on the dress is gathered tightly which is in the white and lavender stripe fabric.  The tightly gathered fabric allows the dress to have lots of fullness and looks so sweet on this wee one.  To top off the adorable dress, she is wearing a white voile apron which has a cumber bun which goes around to the back and ties with a large bow.  The white voile apron is trimmed with delicate white lace.  I would say this outfit is from the 1940's era, but looks adorable on this little cutie pie.  Under her dress, she is wearing vintage white panties trimmed with white lace.  Her shoes are vintage and come from my personal doll shoe collection.  They are white baby shoes with white shoe laces in the front.  She will come to her new mommy with a pale lavender bunny rabbit. The bunny rabbit has pellets in it which allows him to drape nicely over the dolls arm or in her lap.
All my dolls are truly loved and cared for as though they were my children.  Their clothes are either original to the doll, made by me, I've tried finding doll clothing from the same era as the doll or find clothing which match the personality of the doll.  We do not smoke and I try very hard to keep a tidy clean home free of dust and odor.  My dolls are clean and most of the time look as though they did when they were sold new.   Depending on how old they are, I do try to be honest in detailing if some of the dolls have bruises, missing toes or fingers or other issues, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth having; for each one is like children.....they are all beautiful in their mothers eyes.  If I've missed something it would never be intentional.
SIZE:
This beautiful antique AM bisque and composition baby doll measures approximately 12" long.  Her lavender bunny rabbit measures approximately 5" long.
CONDITION:
I would consider this doll in good antique condition.  She has a replaced vintage mohair baby wig.  Her beautiful brown German glass eyes open and close freely and are free of chips, cracks or breaks.  Her bent leg composition body does show it's age with paint loss and other age related factors for a doll this age.  One foot has been repaired some many years ago, but is only obvious if her shoes are removed.  Her vintage dress and apron have been laundered and sanitized.  Her bisque head is free of chips, cracks or breaks.  She is ready to display and what a gorgeous little baby doll.  We are an older couple and are free of Covid.  We have been home bound since March, 2020 and when we have to go out, are very careful to sanitize and stay away from others.  She is free of odors or offensive smells.
