Collector Quality - Long Retired American Girl Elizabeth 18" Doll dressed in a handmade Gold Colonial Gala Gown with Pinner Cap - So pretty and would make a perfect gift! A Collectors Dream!
I'm an adult collector, currently downsizing my collection. This particular doll I purchased from another adult collector. Elizabeth has been display only, her hair is bright/shinny with all pin curls intact and in the original style with hair ribbon, her neck is marked Pleasant Company, limbs tight, can hold a pose and has a fuller body like the older Pleasant Company dolls. She also has a short body tag and uncut neck strings. She is free of marks.
Also, from my experience with collecting American Girl dolls, I believe this Elizabeth to be a first edition, her face is characteristic of the first year as it is a bit smaller than those that came later, not to mention her fuller body and facial coloring.
She comes dressed in a Gold Colonial Gala Gown which I purchased from one of the many shops on Etsy. Absolutely breathtaking with amazing craftsmanship!  A true heirloom piece. A prefect dress for such a beautiful doll. The dress is made of luxurious gold brocade (stiffen silk) with cream lace trim on the sleeves, gold bows down the front bodice with one on each sleeve and along the front bottom edge of the dress, cream tight lace trim along the lines of the darts of the bodice and ruffle fabric trim at the bottom of the dress. Dress closes with snaps on the back. Then to complete the look comes with a pinner cap made of cream stain which sits right on top of the Elizabeth's head.
She also comes wearing gold slippers made by American Girl, these are not part of Elizabeth's collection but matched the dress so well. They are in excellent condition.
